Nothing new under the sun

 This post can create a controversy amongst man and woman. It will sound like it favours man and brings dishonor to women. Truth of the matter is, a man have been given the privilege of marrying a woman and if he wants to add to the number that he has, he can do so.

An ex colleague of mine once asked me this question. Does God have a problem with polygamy? I said no. The is nowhere in the bible where he shows that he does. Practically according to my believe, if a man marries a woman he is more safer than when he is cheating.

Kind David was one of the man who married more than one wife. That even after sinning by sleeping with another man's wife, God came and told him that if he wanted another woman, he would have given him.

Life back then a man marrying more than one woman was a norm. It became a culture and many embraced it. I would say that it became unhealthy when men started treating woman unfairly. When the years went by, women started exercising their own independence.

Our fellow sisters started seeing how their fathers are treating their own mother's and this became a thing that women who take crap from men do not know their worth. The war started. Honesty is the best policy and we must admit that certain men use culture to abuse woman.

The times have changed even though principles are still the same. Polygamy still exist and men marrying more than one woman still a norm. In the book of Isaiah the is a scripture that says seven woman will take hold of one man and ask him to marry them.

The is this imbalance between man and woman. And I do believe that it was still so even in the beginning. The used to be war in the past and man would be the ones going to war. A lot of man died and this has caused this imbalance that we have today.

To add on that again a lot of man are in prison. Homosexual also plays a role on this as we have more gays than lesbians. We can look around and see even when it comes to which gender are single. 

In our churches, woman are more. In Corporate woman are more. In Shopping centers woman are more. In our pubs/clubs woman are more. The was a survey that was done few years ago that woman drink more than man. 

What I am trying to say is this, when it comes to marriage, the is nothing new under the sun. Every woman have a desire to belong somewhere. It drives a woman crazy to be by herself. When a woman becomes desperate, she becomes dangerous.

To end this imbalance between man and woman, man have to marry more than one woman. This is our reality today as history has detailed it.
