Submission
Ephesians 5:22-24 (NIV), Wives submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord, for the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the savior. Now as the church submit to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
As a man who has been married before, this was something I was supposed to understand. Submission!!! I am talking about the true definition of submission. Yesterday when I was listening to Radio 2000, on the Inner Circle, Ntombi Phiri had a guest by the name K.C Dinoke. This man brought light to me for the first time in my life what is submission. Well I was not far off in terms of living the word, just the understanding of it. On my other post, especially Relationship falls out and Two is better than one, I highlight some of the key points of this topic, submission.
Women around the world gets to be abused by men who do not even understands the true definition of submission. In the beginning God said man (Male and Female) shall have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air etc. He never said we should have dominion over each other as humans. And again Paul said man are not independent from woman and woman are not independent from man. This two species needs each other.
I always say this to my fellow sisters that, before you board a ship, you first need to ask the captain of the ship on where this boat is going. Otherwise you will climb the boat and the boat would not have a destination. When you as a woman, before you submit, you need first to understand what you are submitting under. A lot of my fellow sisters said I do to a man who does not know the mission himself. Everyone has been created for a purpose and we ought to know that purpose. You play an important role when you submit. There are qualities and gifts that the mission it`self needs.
Submission simply means committing yourself under a certain purpose. Mr K.C Dinoke broke it down into two. Sub and mission. We take a look on Sub as sub marine, the ship that goes under the water, the best analysis to describe Sub. The is no a true meaning to the word sub. Mission is a mission. The scripture above said, a man is a head. A man out to carry a vision and a mission. So, when you come as a woman you out to find out what is the vision and what is the mission before you could submit. Hence I always say we date wrong.
When we reach this stage of understanding the whole purpose of marriage, we will have dominion like God said in the beginning. The is a special blessing that goes with that and that will be a topic for another day. When man and woman understands how valuable they are to each other, peace will come to the world.
